History and tradition

About this celebration

Zlataritsa observes its day on Letnia Nikulden, the feast of the transfer of the relics of sv. Nikolay Mirlikiyski. The date was established by Municipal Council decision № 215 of 25 March 1998. BTA's photo archive documents the 2004 celebration: a water blessing for residents' health and a religious procession with the saint's icon. The civic celebration thus connects with local devotion to sv. Nikolay.

Bulgarian original
