History and tradition

About this celebration

Kostenets's town celebration looks back to the railway of 1888, around which the station settlement developed. The match factory followed in 1901 and the paper factory in 1902; in 1964, Gara Kostenets and Momin prohod united as a town. The 2018 celebration combined this memory with local creativity: amateur performers presented „Kostenska pletenitsa“, theatre took place on the cultural centre stage, and exhibition „Proizvedeno v Kostenets“ showcased local production. Children's football and concerts in the amphitheatre completed the festive days.

Bulgarian original
