History and tradition

About this celebration

The traditional costume festival in Zheravna was created in 2008, following an idea by Hristo Dimitrov, founder of ensemble „Balgare“. He developed the concept of participants wearing traditional costumes and leaving contemporary everyday life behind for a few days. The first edition in August 2008 began the annual gathering in the locality Dobromeritsa.

Bulgarian original
