History and tradition

About this celebration

Byala cherkva's celebration honours its participants in the April Uprising. In 1876, 101 local men led by Bacho Kiro left the village and joined the company that fought at Dryanovskia manastir. The museum preserves and presents this memory through exhibitions and reenactments. A torchlight procession to the locality „Chernichaka“, from which the insurgents set out for the company's assembly point, forms part of the commemoration.

Bulgarian original
