THE TOWN AT A GLANCE
At the end of today's Pleven, during the Roman era, Storgosia developed, a way station that became a fortified settlement. During the Middle Ages, life in the area continued; during the Bulgarian National Revival, schools, community centers and churches were opened in Pleven.
