History and tradition

About this celebration

Kazanlak's first Praznik na rozata was held in 1903, devoted to beauty and virtue. It later developed as a celebration of the oil-bearing rose and rose growers' work. Choosing Tsaritsa Roza, rose picking and the festive procession are among the recognisable events through which Kazanlak presents its rose-growing tradition.

Bulgarian original
