About this celebration

Boychinovtsi celebrates its municipal day on 7 October, also identified in the municipality's announcement for the 2015 celebration. The municipality's formation and the granting of town status are separate milestones. At the 2020 anniversary, Mayor Svetlin Sreteniev told BTA that the municipality was established in 1910 by uniting Boychinovtsi, Palilula and Ohrid, while Boychinovtsi became a town in 1974. The 110th anniversary included a liturgy at the Church of St George and a ceremonial municipal session honouring teachers, former mayors and other local contributors.
